All participating Youth (10 years old and up) in any OVCHE event (including Co-op or Teen Socials) and their parent(s) or guardian(s) must read and agree to the following on an annual basis:

  • I have read and agree with the OVCHE Mission Statement of Purpose (see below).

Ohio Valley Christian Home Educators supports and encourages families who are striving to educate their children in a manner pleasing to our Savior Jesus Christ. OVCHE is a volunteer-led support group providing resources for educational activities, communication, encouragement, fellowship, and information to homeschool families and to those interested in homeschooling.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart: and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. Deuteronomy 6:6

  • My behavior will be honoring to family and OVCHE at all OVCHE meetings, field trips, special events, and activities (which will hereto forward be referred to as OVCHE functions).
  • I will dress and behave modestly at all OVCHE functions. Modesty is defined as behavior, manner, or appearance intended to avoid offending others. I will refrain from being rude, vulgar, and improper.
    • Modest dress includes all undergarments being covered.
    • OVCHE supports the rights of free speech of its members, however, in the interests of having OVCHE free from distraction, and disruption and to prevent conflict, no attire regarding political propaganda, or other political or campaign-related materials nor anything that would contradict our Statement of Faith or Statement of Belief regarding marriage, family, and human sexuality, can be worn at any OVCHE event.
    • We encourage our teens and their parents to keep the following statements in mind as they decide what to wear to an event:
  1. I am to please God in all that I say, think, and do, including what I choose to wear. (Psalms 19:14)
  2. I am an ambassador of His character to the watching world. My outward expression of holiness reveals my inward transformation or lack thereof. (2 Corinthians 5:20, Matthew 5:16)
  3. Discernment should urge me to ask, "Does this outfit draw attention to me or to Christ? Does it reflect the dignity of an image-bearer? (Ephesians 4:1)
  4. Will this piece of clothing be a stumbling block or cause my brother or sister in Christ to be lustfully tempted? Choosing "respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control" (1 Timothy 2:9) is a way to love my neighbor well and encourage their personal holiness before God. (Philippians 2:3-4)
  5. Someone else's clothing choice, regardless of how outwardly modest or not, does not excuse my sin of lustful thoughts towards them. Modesty of the heart is just as important as modesty of the body. (Matthew 5:28)
  • I will behave respectfully and appropriately with members of the opposite sex at all OVCHE functions.
  • I understand that the OVCHE Board of Directors has the discretion to determine the guidelines of all of the above.
